They don't have to be readable to me, just to Windows :-)

When I want to find something,  I ask my wife.  She knows where EVERYTHING
is.

> Try looking in C:\Documents and Settings\(UserName)\Application Data\Microsoft\Credentials.  There should be a very long alpha-numeric folder in Credentials.  Contents are all encoded.   Keep in mind, you need to be using AutoComplete in Internet Explorer (Tools/Internet Options/Content tab/Personal information section at bottom) for this to be working.  Additionally, many web sites contain the specific password you've selected within a cookie which is deposited into your temporary internet files folder.

Okay.....I think :-)

The alpha numeric subfolder was empty, so I guess the login/pw for those
sites I visit are stored in the cookies then, ok, thx, at least I know
where to start looking now :-)

Good, glad you found it!  Believe me, had there been something in the other folder you would not have known what to do with it anyway.  It is all gibberish.

I know exactly what I'd do with it, copy the files to my other computer
and let Windows sort it out for me :-)

Thx again, this will make the day go by a bit quicker down at the shop

Is the other machine also Windows XP?  If so, take a look in Help and Support for information on Files and Settings Transfer Wizard.  You can move all your settings or specific only specific folders/files.

Yes it is, and I know the file was in there somewhere as I transferred
that whole "settings" thing from a Win2k PC to this one, which has
WinXP, keeping all my bookmarks and stuff, I just needed those couple of
PW's and I didn't want to***up the rest of my settings on my work
computer or I would have burned the entire contents of my "documents and
settings" folder to a CD and transferred them over already, it's only
378 sub folders and 2728 files after all, about 250 MB :-)

"Only" 250 MB?  LOL!  I just realized that I haven't cleaned out my OE newsgroup folders since the beginning of last month.  Went to remove all the old message bodies before compacting, and was surprised with 684 MB sitting there.  Good grief!
