Steve,

I think what you are referring to is the fact that Nascar 3 "went
gold".  This is the author's way of saying that the final  master
version for production has been created and distribution of
the title will be following shortly.

There has been a misunderstanding! Sorry!
I'm Italian and don't know English very well....  :)  and reading hastily
the sentence "We just received word from our European office that the UK
version of NASCAR Racing 3 has gone gold" I thought that there would be a
special edition for european countries (without some features as the Busch
series, and so on).

Now I've realized that it's an expression ("to go gold") just  to say: "it's
an imminent event", or the like, I guess...or not???

Ed, whats up with grilling poor Stefano.  It was plain and simple that he
didn't understand the meaning of "gone gold"  I usually like your posts, they
are very informative.  But then there are times where you act like a bonehead.
I'm just saying be helpful in here, it seems like you are pretty knowledgeable
in sim ***.

It means the final version of the CD from the developer (Papyrus) is ready
to go to the factory to be copied for distribution...the master CD's are
gold in colour (or at least they used to be).

Marc.
