I've searched through this newsgroup and have not found
the answer, although I'm sure someone has covered it before.
I have the Logitech WingMan FF wheel, using the USB port. It
works fine with the Sports Car GT bundled with the wheel.
When I try to use the wheel with NASCAR 3, I use the options
menu to configure the controls and the NASCAR 3 software doesn't
seem to recognize the accelerator or brake pedals.

Please send pointers or profiles. Thansk in advance.

Hi there, I have a different wheel than you do, a Microsoft Sidewinder
standard usb wheel, no FF on it. But I did run into a similar sounding
problem that you describe. On the software for my wheel, it has an option to
set how they work as far as the axis goes. This setting allows for
"combined" operation, which means both pedals work together on the same
axis. Basically meaning, when you calibrate the pedals, they'll both use the
same axis, or graphical line representing the axis in the view you see. The
other setting is called "separate". And of course, allows them to work on a
separate axis from each other. I tried this separate setting with N3, and
had to use both the joy1 and joy2 calibrations to be able to do both pedals
(turned it into a 3 axis wheel instead of 2 axis), but even though they
appeared to calibrate in the controls setup, once I hopped in the car on the
track, they refused to work. After a minute of scanning the help file, ran
across the line "this setting may be incompatible with some games/software".
So basically, my advice would be to check and see if yours is using seperate
or combined axis for pedals. If that doesn't fix it, dunno what it could be.
Except to double check the wheel installation and make sure you're using the
correct USB drivers. (Stock win98 usb drivers screwed up my wheel alot,
crashed games, etc. Installed drivers off the motherboard cdrom, works
perfect now. :)

I have the same wheel,  try this.
go to the settings\control panel\game controllers first and make sure
that the Logi wheel is
in the first controller position. (really it should be the only
controller active)  Then go to the properties button and click on the
box that allows separate axis.  Go back to the first screen where you
can see the little red wheel and the two gauges for the pedals. Move the
wheel to it's full motion both left and right.  Press both pedals until
you can see both gauges moving  at the same time.  If only one pedal
guage can move at a time, you don't have the 'separate' axis option
checked properly.
once that is done, close the control panel windows and start N3.
Go to options, and calibrate both joysticks.  Joy1 for the wheel. Joy2
for the pedals.   then assign your various wheel and pedal options and
you should be ready to go.
