That reminds me - am I the only person who was disappointed the first time
they saw "The High Chaparral" on TV? I waited years until we got a new
625-line TV that would receive BBC2 and then...

Man, I'm envious. Some of my fondest memories as a kid were seeing those
beautiful cars racing at Riverside.  Jim Hall was my first sports hero.
If you take any photos, be sure to post them on the web somewhere.
Hopefully, some enterprising folks will put together a good 60's Can-Am
patch for World Sports Cars.

The very first driver I ever met in person was Mark Donahue in 1968 at Mid-Ohio.  His car was the Sunoco special, but at that race it was a McLaren, not the Lola.

I also saw the 'H' version at Mid-Ohio.  It only saw two races in its short career.  I never saw the 'E'.

PS - weather is delaying me.  It was IFR only this morning..... :-(

not quite the same, but I had a gas-powered string guided Cox racer that
was the 2c  I think.  open***pit with little winglets on the nose and the
movable wing in back.
.049 gas engine...went fast but only in straight line for a very short
distance...one of my favorites...and possibly the inspiration for the BMW
lmp that campaigned the last few years.
