Bug causes 263.483 at MI

Several persons posted info on bugs which cause cars to disappear into
walls.  I experience at new one.

I was practicing at Michigan and coming out of the fourth turn.  My
car broke loose for no apparent reason.  The car didn't hit the wall
or spin, but was transported the short distance to the line.  I
ran the lap at 263.483 mph.

If you can repeat that bug in real life you should contact Penske as
soon as possible;-)

And another small bug: I was testing at Long Beach and set
the wind to SE 5 MPH (constant weather).  I quited to dos and restarted
ICR, the wind was N 5 MPH according to the track title screen.  I checked
the options for wind (didn't change anything) and tried to run LB again.
This time the wind was changed back to SE 5.

Very minor bug, but it is worth of checking the weather in track title
screen if constant wind is required (for example in racing series).

A very similar bug made me run over 300miles an hour once. I heard that
a more significant glitch made somebody run 700+mph!

I had a similar accident at Phoenix. I checked the replay, and
there was one frame thrown in,showing my car on the finish line...

My 'lap record' at Phoenix: >210 mph ;-)

Clearly, your Indycar subdirectory is too close to your DOOM subdirectory,
and the car ran over a transporter spot left from one of the missions. <G> ;)
Seriously, the same thing has happened to me at various tracks. I saved the
replay, and yep, instant matter transport.   If there were a savegame option,
it would really help to pin down what the problem is.....

What if Papyrus were to release information on the s/w engine used in Indycar
to allow us to get creative ala some of the Doom activities?  I don't mean
mixing the two (yeah, a Baron of Hell in a Honda-Lola, he's not very fast, but
NOBODY passes him) , I mean letting some of the creativity that exists on the
Network come up with something like a trackbuilding utility for the existing
simulation.

I've often thought about this and I think it would be amazing.  However, Id
never release info on their WAD files.  Someone, somehow, went through it
and figured out what everything was.

Maybe someone should do that for Indycar, but I'm guessing that the track
files are most likely encrypted, as is the case for most commercial games.

However, I don't think that Doom would have been as successful as it is if
it wasn't for all the add-on files that have been released for it.  Aa it
stands, Id are millionaires.
