Ok, so I bought the EA Classics version of TD4, and I've had several problems.

1. CD is unrecognizable to my Toshiba CD-Rom drive. Had to use my CDRW drive to
install.
2. When it tries to start a race, it says "Loading..." for a few seconds and
then drops back to the menus.

I am running Win98 with DirectX 5.2, Glide 2.46.

So any ideas on how to fix #2?

I suspect you have a faulty CD.. and I would try and exchange it asap
if I were you.

This would account for both errors you are getting...

1. Blazer won't go past 80 mph

2. F1 Racing Simulator The menu system and choices...gotta go...gotta go gotta go.

3. Clutch?: Won't go in 1st but won't slip either

4. Clutch?: Won't go in 1st but won't slip either

5. Clymer's doesn't go past '90

6. Transmission won't go in any direction (but it can go.)

7. 2.3 won't rev past 3000

8. Until Samuel activates the tigers past, Katherine won't rip any allied caves.

9. Taurus '87 won't go above 35 MPH
