$150 for the card and $1000 for a 21" monitor capable of 1600x1200 at 75 Hz.
My 17 only does 75 Hz to 1024x768.

By the time V3 comes out I surely hope that monitor prices will have dropped
much further...  Maybe 600-700 $ for the 21 " by that time?

Oh shit a 21" requires an upgrade of my desk... The race never ends!!!

Is your room ready for a larger desk? And your house? :-)

or if they put a tv out socket on it you can use it on a 42 flat widescreen
wall hung Phillips plasma display - yours for a mere 13 000.00 GBP........
oh wait, I could get (another) real race car for that !!!  :-D

I have tv out on my Canopus card, but haven't run it to a tv yet...anyone
had any experience of this?

Instead of upgrading, try overclocking.  (Please see Tom's site).  I
purchased my computer desk - an Intel Mantle MMX, oc'd it to 5 legs (instead
of four), screwed in a Voodoo2x4, and let me tell you, this baby is _rock_
solid.

I saw a 50 inch flat widescreen for 12 000 GBP the other day. Nearly
tempted but didn't have change:-)

Look for a good used monitor or a refurbished one.  I just picked up a
21 inch NEC 6FGE for 500.00 USD here in Atlanta thats freakin'
amazing. This (USED) monitor does 1600x1600!!!

Monitors are tough to wear out.   I suggest you look to find a used
one from a smaller dealer.  My guy, who is excellent, is a little shop
run by two Lebanese guys who will and can get or find ANYTHING.

Max Klinger would be proud!

Over-clocking does not work for everyone...

I'm happy for those that push their hardware like this, and get away
with it, but the caveats need to be given as well.

People _have_ done expensive damage to their systems doing this, and
this fact should be also presented along with the recommendation to
overclock.

Again, cool for those that do it and are happy.  I just think people
should have both sides of the story before they do this.

Just go to www.step-thermodynamics.com . They will put your mind to ease
with a LIFE-TIME WARRENTY on their coolers and ALL CPU's bought from them
UNCONDITIONALY..... eheh I know, my 450 is on the way...hehe

You only risk the CPU (C300A: 90$)
