There's no "WE" about it; you want to start it, start it. (See below for
how...)

If you are interested in doing that, read the periodic posting in
news.announce.newusers. It details the process for creating non-alt
newsgroups.

FWIW, I'm opposed to the proposed split, but don't let me stop you from
trying... I suspect the number of postings is quite a bit less than 100
per day, and almost any capable newsreader (program, not human :-))
should be able to make short work of that volume of traffic... Also, the
traffic you are seeing now is certainly not representative of the usual
level of traffic in r.a.s....

Same here, and I do agree.  When GP2 was released, there were a bunch
of messages on it, then it tapered down to a trickle.  Same thing for
Nascar2.  Soon it will "taper off".  however, I am in the opinion that
Nascar by Papyrus is the most *** in discussion, and a lot of us
have most if not all of the sims.  Personally I own Nascar1, Nascar2,
GP, World Circuit (for the Amiga, which I still love).  I won't bother
with all the out of date ones...

oh yeah, the one that really started it all - INDY 500 for the Amiga!
That was the coolest one IMHO.  I've spent many a night running 200
lappers with that program!

Being from the UK you'll know the Hula Hoops ads....

Oi! Richard! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (please) :)

We've _been_ through all of this and we'll go through it every time
there is a new sim around. A pocket of people who can't be bothered to
skip past the GP2/ICR2/N2 posts whinge endlessly about "there's too many
posts", and soon the "too many posts" messages make sure there really
are too many posts.

In a couple of weeks we'll be back to normal traffic. Even now it's far
from outrageous.

Cheers!
John
