I've removed allof the code that supports older versions of the sim,
fixed a few small problems in D3Scrub and D3League, and I *think* I
improved the favored host stuff where it relates to shutting down
other running hosts.

If you're running a *dedicated* NR2K3 server, there's also stuff in
the reference guide (see "Issues") about how to re-clain a
significant portion of disk space by deleting files that you don't
need when running a dedicated server.

If you run (or want to run) your own dedicated NR2K3 server, this
software is invaluable.  It lets you setup all of your server
parameters without having to manually edit any INI files or create
unwieldy batch files. It also allows you to run simultaneous hosts
(it's term for NR2k3 servers) on the same computer. Each host
requires that you setup a schedule of races. Best of all, it's
absolutely free to download and use.

BTW, Ed uses the D3League component to re-format the results files to
match the RASCAR website's basic color scheme and font choice.

Hey John,

I kind of lost track of DeMONS due to not having a usage requirement but I'm
in a situation now that it would work perfectly. Have you had any feedback
about problems using it with Windows 2003?

says...

Nope. There's no reason it shuldn't work since none of the Windows
files are involved.

Didn't think so either but thought I'd better check as I don't own the
server.

Thanks John.

John, quick question that I didn't see an answer for in the reference stuff
on the site.

What does DeMONS do if N2003 hasn't been installed off the CD? Or, possibly,
does it not like to work via remote desktop?

The problem I had on the server when I tried to use it was that as soon as I
hit Start in D3Launcher the launcher shut down. As far as I know N2003 was
installed off the CD but I can't verify through the registry at the moment
as the server is being used.

says...

The sim has to be installed from the CD.

If the sim wasn't installed from the CD, all of the D3 components
will refuse to run.

D3Launcher will not run unless at least one host has been created in
D3Config, and at least one race has been scheduled in that host.

If by "remote desktop", you mean through VNC or PC-Anywhere types of
programs, yes, it should work fine that way.

Hey John

Thanks for the reply. I just got on the server and checked the registry. By
the entries in there I'm assuming it was installed off a CD. For whatever
reason, this morning when I went back in and tried it worked fine so it
must've been one of those MS OS deciding to be a b*tch deals <g>. Ahhh the
joys of trying to work on a server hundreds of miles away.

By remote desktop I meant the one that's built into XP and Server 2003 (the
improved version of W2K's terminal services).

In any case, thank you, sir, for your help.
