I think if you use split-axis, the problem will be 'foxed'.
Have you tried that?

While scrolling down the lists of threads I stumbled on this article from
NOKIA which was suitable for me to reply to.  How nice.

I understand the problem but have no idea how to fix it.  Not trolling,
but perhaps you could try one of the Microsoft IE groups - relavent to
your version - you'll get a much more concise answer.

Is this only happenning in IE?  Not in word or whatever else you use?
Try reinstalling the drivers for your video card.  I had this issue in the
past and it was corrected by doing so.

Hi,

If I recall there is a proper term for this in DTP, 'kerning' if
I remember correctly. You may be able to find this option
in IE or the FONTS properties within control panel.

Failing that try going to microsoft.com and search through
the Q articles, it may be a known problem with a resolution.

This happens to me when I print it...and I end up losing about 3 lines per
page of text.

For IE5, try Start/settings/control pannels --> add/remove --> MS IE 5 -->
Repair current installation -->yes--->restart.

Might work...?
