Hi.  I was wondering how you find out what service provider a IP #
belongs to.  I am wonderin this because I have a Message Board, and
some "obseine" language and stuff was posted there(well attempted to
be posted there, only I didn't allow to be), and I would like to
report this guy/gal to there Serive Provider.

Thanks,
Tom Wardell

You need to do an nslookup on the IP.  If you have a shell account you
can easily do it, otherwise you'll need to find a web page that does the
same thing.  Just do a web search for nslookup, you're bound to find a
number of them...

Every IP corresponds to a recognisable internet address, for example
resolving my IP would give you runrun.demon.co.uk. From that you can
see my ISP is "Demon". Check theirs and report them.

Cheers!

I've found a simple website which can resolve these IP addresses to
domain names. Try:

Good Luck.
