(....said in a reverent hoarse whisper............)

".........and as the cortege moves at slow-march down the Mall, under a
lowering sky, we hear the muffled drums of the 5th. Foot & Mouth beating out
the step as the gun-carriage, draped in the colours of West Racing and
pulled by six magnificent white stallions wearing the traditional
black-feathered head-dress which is only seen on these State occasions,
comes into view and the solemn crowd, twenty deep in places, bow their heads
in respect towards the little cardboard shoebox atop the
carriage..............oh, the humanity!"

So the greatest contribution of the West Bros to auto sims has been a dead
cat?

No. The Wests' greatest contribution to auto sims has been hope. They gave
us the hope that one day there *would* be something non-Nascar-flavoured
to surpass GPL. Where they went wrong was telling us five years too soon.
Can't blame them for that though, everyone needs a little encouragement
sometimes, and it's easy to get caught up in the web-hype.... it's what
the web does best after all. Well, except ***, obviously.

Maybe if their ex-publisher had been more sympathetic (not really a
publisher's job to be fair) who knows what might have happened already.

You can't put a price on hope though. I'm grateful to them for that, even
now. But I really must remember to start saving up in case they do finish
something. It won't be a cheap ride now we owe them a house as well as
several years of their life! :-)

Rumour has it that the West have managed to create a photo realistic
animation of this very scene, running at 40fps.

Hope is nice, but results are nicer.  I'll admit that I do hope they come
through in the end.

behind the humour!
