the wet in Japan. My car is stuck in 3rd, the clutch is starting to slip, my
door is missing and the windscreen is cracked. With the rain peliting down,
I can hardly see, so it can't get any worse, can it?
Wrong! As soon as I go over a decent bump, the bonnet (hood) flies up at 130
km/h, completely blocking my view except for the tiny gap at the bottom from
which I can only see the road about 2 meters ahead of the car. This has
happened to me in real life, and I tell you its a scary experience!. So, I
slam on the brakes, trying to remember where the road goes, but the air
pressure keeps the bonnet up until I'm almost at a complete stop. I crawl
off in 3rd gear, and once I get up to 80 km/h, I notice the bonnet starting
to vibrate and rise a few cm. Around 100 kmh, up it goes again. So, I manage
to crawl to the end of the stage (luckily to the overnight service).
On the replay, it is just phenomenal. For the first time, I see the
beautifuly detailed engine. The moment of the bonnet and the flipping up has
to have perfect physics modelling - its just spot on.
Kudos again.
