"Greased Lightning" - Richard Pryor (1981?)
Boot-legger turned stockcar racer who moves into the big-time
world of NASCAR. Great flick - good natured, well acted, good
cinematography, and believable story. =)

That was based on a true story. Wendell Scott who used to race at South Boston,
VA.

I think it was called White Lightning.
It was called Greased Lightning. It was based on the life of Wendell
Scott, NASCAR's first African-American driver, and an all around nice
guy. The movie is good, if slightly inaccurate. Unfortunatly, we
lost Wendell about 10 years ago.
