SCGT - What is CVMC used for?

by Bill Mas » Thu, 20 May 1999 04:00:00

Hi, all,

The "I" key in SCGT toggles something called CVMC - Constant Velocity
Magnitude Control.  What the heck is this used for?

In any gear, if you accelerate to a certain point and then wait a second or
two, the screen will display "TGT Speed is....", followed by the top speed
you just hit in that gear.  Then, after you've slowed down, if you
accelerate up to that speed again, and take your foot off the gas, you've
got a basic cruise control going.

Nearest I can figure is this could be used if there was a speed limit
enforced in the pits, but since SCGT handles pit stops automatically, I'm at
a loss.

Any ideas?

Bill

I'm sure SCGT only uses auto pitstop when a driving aid is enabled - for
example auto transmission.

could be that the speed limited is for those who drive with a manual box

I use a manual transmission and have to sit through automatic pit stops (love
that new 6 speed gear box with flywheel upgrade in my GT3 Porsche 911 RSR --
418hp so far :-)

I read in the manual that the controller "sensitivity with speed" is considered
a driving aid and will turn automatic pits stops on.  I guess the only way to
find out is to turn "sensitivity with speed" off. (full left).  I'll try it and
tell you if it worked.

Has anyone been able to get manual pit stops in SCGT?

Jason.

You will get auto pit stops no matter what...unless someone can crack that.

I have no idea what CVCM is.  Maybe we should e-mail ISI?  They obviously
will have the answer.
