I just saw the folowing on the Microprose www site, does this suggest an

The press release was one of several that Spectrum Holobyte / Microprose
issued on the first day of the E3 extravaganza in Los Angeles, touting
all of their recent releases as well as games that are only in the
development stages.  That they are taking orders for GP2 is, however, a
good sign (unless, of course, they are simply trying to sucker in a few
bucks before going bankrupt -- just joking).

Before Spectrum Holobyte shut down its message board in a tiff over
malicous posts about Geoff Crammond's demise, they assured the interested
public that about a week before the release date, they would issue a
press release that GP2 had "gone gold."  That's the press release you
should watch for.

                             No, Toto, I don't think we're
                             in Kansas anymore.

Nope. At E3, I asked two different Microprose types at the booth what the
release date was. Answers were "July" and "this summer". The game they had
there was showing a seriously weird bug. During accidents, the graphics would
go into slow motion. Not a lowered frame rate but like watching a video tape on
single frame advance. Saw a Benneton launched into the air at the first
turn at Monaco and it was just*** in mid-air. Very weird. Other than that
the game was a serious rush to play. Sound was incredible. And real easy to
spin the wheels under accel and lock them up under braking. It will be great
when it finally comes out.
