The US Pits web page has been down for a couple of days now and is
still down right now, but if you're trying to download files for GPL
from there, I did manage to get through to the GPL section of their
site by following this address:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Just thought I'd let people know, in case they wanted to download GPL
files from The US Pits but couldn't.

They aren't down.  I just went there and they have a 12 Feb update.  I had a
problem all week where it kept showing me the "sorry we're down for 24 hours
message" then I checked it from work and it was up.  At home I still got the
above message.  I cleared my history, no help.  Then I deleted my temporary
internet files and that did the trick.  I hope this helps you, the pits is
the best site for people like me who love many different racing game, not to
put black hole motorsports down at all, they are right there at the front of
the pack.

Yep they are back up....  As for being the best.... I hope some of the
people creating updates to these racing series upload their files to
new sites with no popups. Its bad enough having people spam your email
but having pages open up that you have no intention of visiting when
your visiting your favorite sites is just plain bull. I won't be
visiting The Pits and Simulator ***world as much as I used to. There
is a lot of great sites for sim-racing and I hope this helps them to
become even better sites.

Sorry for venting, but I was and am really disappointed to see the
direction in which they are going. Whats next 10 other little windows
that open up when you try to back out of the site?

You're not alone. I can't stand pop-up pages. Banners are bad enough,
but I can live with them. Not pages which open when you don't want
them, ask for them, or have use for them.

You're right. I deleted my temporary files and now it works.

Sorry to The US Pits for accusing them of having problems when it was
a fault at my end. :-)
