Has anyone else wondered how/if the Cicada swarms will affect the Indy or
CocaCola 600 races this weekend?

And while I'm at it, who had the bright idea of giving every one of these
bugs their own Star Trek phaser?  Noisy bastaads!

Haven't seen the little ***s yet myself but I am certain that they will
be a delicacy at the race track. Imagine a Coors and a fistful of Cicadas!
Yummy!

The way I see it, the beat of gazillions of their tiny wings will generate
enuf natural downforce to set new lap records (at least at Indy).

Yes, but don't forget the amount of litres of all sorts of body fluids
and excrements these gazillions of little creepers will drop on their
way across the track.

I'm sure these will outweigh the added downforce. What's more, the
downstream they generate will bge turbulent. We cannot be sure how
detrimental how negative the effects of all those little vortices in the
downpouring air will be.

Maybe time for someone to grab the money making opportunity of inventing
and installing Cicadalets (Toilets where Cicadas can go an relieve
nature in an orderly way without interfering with the racing).

We need a Cicada-Simulator as well now, of course.

Sounds like Tony George and his lot receive some of the biblical
plagues of old ;->

If there *is* a God, why hasn't he "harvested" Tony by now?

That, Dear Steve, is a very good question. Time to re-instate the good
old tradition of human sacrifices again... the richer the better ;-)

I used to think the same way.  But, CART screwed itself up to the
point that I can't believe I was rooting for those jokers.  Since they
abandoned oval racing I say let CART rot.  Yet, I'm not a big fan of
Tony yet either.

I watched my first CART race on Spike last weekend.

I felt like I was watching someone play an arcade game.

"Push To Pass" ?  Paleaaase!!!  Mandatory green-flag stops?  You must be
kidding.

The race was a total farce.  Being the best driver or having the best car
has absolutely nothing to do with winning in CART now.

They should be broadcasting on the Game Show Channel.

Yeah, that reminded me of the 'nitro boost' on a driving game.  What Einstein
thought THAT one up?
