N2 losing memory

by FRANKE » Thu, 09 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I've been operating my game for approx. 1.5 years and the program is
working well. The problem is it is losing memory/space. I can't load many
of the tracks because it says it can't load the complete track description.
About 6 months ago it started when I noticed that it didn't show me all of
the set-up options for racing and qualifying, only one or two. I contacted
Sierra and they said it was a memory problem and I needed to find the
hungry program, etc. I haven't found the culprit nor am I sure that's the
problem. I operate the game from my CD under DOS, not Win95 ( I created a
boot disc) and everything works properly. I have 2 questions (1) When I'm
exiting the game from DOS, and before Win95 starts, I go to a page that
gives me the options of either "exit and save changes" or "exit and not
save changes". In the past I exited and saved changes. Could this have
contributed to using up memory? (2) My N2 folder on my hard disk contains
approx 89.1mb's. Does that appear to be abnormal and if so could I delete
that entire folder and re-load the program after downloading any info/
set-ups I want to save. I'd appreciate any info or wisdom you might pass to
me. Thanx in advance, F.               (delete".com" from return address to
reply)
