My dream would be to be able to drive the P34 at Mosport Park as that
was the first GP I ever attended.  The 6 wheel car really attracted my
attention so that when Tamaya produced a 1/20th scale kit for it, I
had to build it.  A difficult task, but I still have it sitting here
on my desk.  I doubt that we'll see Mr, Kaemmer adding the required
suspension and wheel models to an already complex physics model... so
I'll just have to imagine it.

I now this game has taken me to a different level of interest in
racing and Grand Prix history.  I've been buying old out of print
books about historic racing and just bought "Race Car Vehicle
Dynamics" by W and D Milliken. The math is ok but what I found real
interesting was the historical chapter 13 and how much of the vehicle
dynamic knowledge  was expanded and started due to the litigation
against GM over the "unsafe at any speed"  Corvair.  (To those of you
too young to know about the Corvair, it was a rear engine, rear wheel
drive car built in the US by Chevy as an answer to Volkswagens
starting in 1960)   To think that much of our knowledgebase was
started over the lowly Corvair is amazing and rather ironic.

Well back to Rouen for next week's race on-line.

150 hours in GPL... I've soloed but no one will give me a license!

Please do so, because I for one would hate to see GPL bastardised by the
likes of the P34!

Why? It's a part of F1 heritage. Why would GPL be bastardised by its
presence?

The Corvair actually wasn't so lowly,  with independent rear
suspension and turbo-charging (Monza) 20 years ahead of when they were
commonly used.
I'm not really a Corvair fan, but I do feel it was a car railroaded
out of existence by a self-righteous jerk.
He knocked GM and the US auto industry on their asses as far as being
willing to try new technology.
The suspension problem Mr. Nader "discovered" is evident in many older
independent rear suspension cars. Basically, it's just fast rebound on
one side of the car after a hard corner.
