rec.autos.simulators

No word here that I've seen  on whether the patch improves the game enough
to make it worthwhile.  Anyone tried it and care to give a report? (Does
anyone still even HAVE NASCAR Revolution?)

I hate to be the first one to respond to this post but let me start off by
saying that I played about a total of two hours of NASCAR Revolution before
the patch. Needless to say, it came off of my hard drive very quick. Then
our racing editor, Jeff Downey told me the patch actually makes the game
decent so I decided "what the hell" and I reinstalled. To be honest (and I'm
not a die-hard simmer) this is a lot better game. It still has it's flaws
but A LOT of the previous problems have been alleviated. Give it a try...

Thanks, Tony.  I never had the game at all, due in great part to rrevved's
report (among others) about how it handled graphics loading ala Grand Prix
2--slowed things down to much less than real time.  Have you played Rev.
with the patch long enough to know if this issue has been addressed?  IMO,
if it hasn't, it doesn't much matter what has been done in the way of other
fixes, it still won't be playable.  Again, thanks.

I'm assuming you mean that there is a lack of the "speed feel" in the game
??? Well, that's still in there I would say but I use the in car/on the road
view so the game plays faster with this vantage point. Maybe I'm answering
the wrong question here so just let me know.

I've never seen the game, but in Finnish PC magazine it got 45% and
they were "***" it big time...

just one example:

"hitting the walls or objects is absolutely redicilous"

Wait, I will check my Recycle BIn......damn, must of emptied it.

Sounds like where my copy of SCGT will soon be. :)
