Same with me.  I was in the ferrari and drafted a lotus down the straight.
I looked at it in the replay and i was up to 199.  Amazing what you can do
with the help of a draft.

I have a vague memory of a GPL developer / beta tester mentioning
slipstreaming battles.
Does anyone have a definitive answer ?
Does GPL model aerodynamic drag and therefore slipstreaming ?
If nobody knows for sure then what are everyone's opinions?

For my part I'm sure I can tell the differnce coming down towards Parabolica
but I'm always in the Lotus so I'd probably be gaining anyway ?

Whaddya Think !

Yes,

The game does.  One race in a Brabham I was following a Lotus into
Parabolica, and wow on replay I realized why I never made turn after I made
pass.  I had that Brabham over 197 mph when I pulled oput of draft right
before trying to stop.  I never touched the other guy since my speed was so
outragous in braking zone.

Hi Mike-o,

Well, I can't say with certainty that it models it, but if you are
getting close to someone, the draft is VERY real. I NEVER catch people
at then end of the 1st long straight at the Glen cuz I drive a Brabham.
But I was close out of the esses to a Honda, I stayed pretty close and
just before the braking zone, got REALLY sucked into the draft. I had to
pull to the right to avoid hitting him, then I went off on the outside
of the corner because I couldn't brake in time. I looked at the replay
and I was 5 mph faster at the end of that straight (184) than I went on
my 1:04.9 hotlap in training.

So, my unscientific analysis concludes that the draft exists!

Dave,

I am glad I am not the only one who has been caught out by this.
