Hi from Vienna!

|> >fast-lap.  That would be a very good deed!

|>
|> Again, a wonderful idea, but not likely.  Plus, it is more than likely they
|> had to work hard to get those setups... and though they may be mighty proud of

|>

Well, i don't post my setups, because I feel that lots of people here
want to do their setups on their own.
Posting of setups can be considered as posting of SPOILERS !
So if you post setups, please include a spoiler warning!!!

I don't participate in any of those competitions (at the moment), and
my setups are no secrets: Contact me and you can get any information
you want!

Of course, it is a lot of work (and a lot of fun) to tune a car,
so I suggest that everybody who send in a new record
GIVES CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL SETUP 'AUTHOR', like I did for
New Hampsire in the case he/she is using the setup
(or even a slightly modified version) from another person.

Have FUN!

   Herbert

Good idea Herbert.  I'll start by saying that the setup I used
at New Hampshire I got from Compuserve, uploaded by Georg Naujoks
and created by Flavio Silva.

The setup I used at Laguna I also got from Compuserve, but I don't
remember who uploaded/created it.

This is true.  I remember using someone else's excellent setup, and it
actually made my time slower and more frustrating.  Driving style and
preferences have a lot to do with it.

I can't beat 176.146 at Nazareth, but the setup I use for qualifying at
New Hampshire (185.033) has the feature that the tires (right front) only
last for one hot lap.  In fact, you have to go slow on the warm-up lap
and the first half of the first (of the two timed laps).  If you don't,
two bad things happen:

1. You won't be able to make the last turn of the second timed lap
because the right front will overheat and lose traction.
2. You will run out of gas before the finish (if you slowed to make
the turn).  This setup starts with only two gallons.

I generally don't have any problems driving other people's setups.  In fact,
all of my best times are on setups that I got from others (mostly Compuserve).
I'm not much good at creating setups, maybe I don't have the patience.

BTW, I see that the new best lap (here on Internet) for Nazareth is 176.449

COngratulations Jeff.  But Tony... Isn't your series a pseudo-NASCAR series?
Should the speeds be lower?

I tried that at the first race and immediately the entire driver group
protested.

So it's gonna be a little unrealistic until NASCAR Racing comes out.. ;-)

I believe it is called Sportsims.  There are two sections you should look at
there, Motorsports and Racing Leagues.

Mike:
Very minor correction -- the second section is Racing Circuits.  They
are sections 6 and 14 of the SPRTSIMS forum.  The man in charge of the
ICR league is Lane Charnes.
