SCGT2 is out!!!!!

Well I've been playing what I consider the best driving simulation ever,(it
is just my opinion so don't get all upset about it) Sports Car GT for a
while now. Then just today I decided to download the lastest patch, even if
I thought it wasn't necessary. The new patch improves the AI so much that I
think that SCGT with the patch is almost a new game. There are also a lot of
other new features, and fixes to bugs that I haven't notice but to see the
main improvement you have to race with other cars, and after u ahve done
that with the new patch u will be thinking you are playing SCGT2

Which patch did you download? Is it the one that models car damage?

This is not an so-called official patch from EA or ISI.  It is an
independent project so I wouldn't really call it a patch of that kind.  The
only thing the fix does is enable visual damage.  From what the readme says
it does nothing else.  It doesn't mess with the AI, nor does it add "a lot
of other new features", etc.  In other words it is the same SCGT (a good
game nevertheless) with one feature added, nothing more.  To say it is like
playing SCGT2 is absurd.

From the contents of his post, it is readily apparent that the
"latest" patch that he used  was 1.551 and not the visual damage.

Consider this, if you will.  First, the patch has been out for a long time
now.  Second, his post came right on the heels of the visual damage patch.
One would think that if someone is so found of SCGT (as I am, to be sure)
then the long-ago released patch would've been downloaded when released and
not a month or so later.  So I don't see how you can say it is "readily
apparent" that what the original poster was talking about was the patch and
not the visual damage hack.

I think that something like "I downloaded the 1.551 patch and what a
difference it makes" would have been clearer.  No big deal: imprecice posts
lead to confusion.  I just wanted to clarify just exactly what the person
was referring to with the mention of release of the "newest" patch, which
was released some time ago.
