F1 2002 for the Xbox: $49.95
I guess those kids have a lot of disposable income 'cuz their consoles cost
less than a GF4 video card for a PC.

: LOL! Yeah well, wait a month and a GF4 will cost less than a PS2/XBox. The
: video cards tend to start coming down in price before the game consoles do
I
: think...AND you pay more for those console games that can't be patched,
: edited/enahanced, and yet to hear some tell it THEY are better than the PC
: sims that we use. Go figure...

Xbox games can and will be patchable, not sure about the rest of the
consoles.
Example DOA3, a free patch via an update CD was put out to add more
character detail.
Once Xbox online is here, rumour has it, patching will be available.
Now with that said, how much is a tricked out PC going for these days?
I'll be damned if I'm buying a P4 $3k system to play games.
You really can't compare the two systems, each has their strengths, you can
do work with a PC.
BTW, Dolby 5.1 surround sound on a 51 HDTV widescreen games are incredible
on the Xbox.
All while laying back on a couch, not scrunched up in front of a 17" PC
monitor.
I haven't been playing with the PC much since I got my Xbox, I can tell you
that and I've been a PC gamer since 1981.
So what racing simulations ae you playing on the Xbox? I wouldn't mind
owning an Xbox, but right now I don't see any games for it that I might
want. I already have Morrowind on the PC.
Of course none of these are simulators. More games, certainly not near the
level of, say GPL, however they are very fun and challenging in their own
way. The main plus is I don't need a masters degree in PC engineering to
play them! :-) With the price of an Xbox, you can own a PC as well, so
it's good all the way around.
www.teamxbox.com is a good site to read up on these and other games.

OK, thx. I did mean more simulation type of games though as I'm aware it
odes have the arcade racers. But as you say, they are still fun. I used to
have fun with a Jaguar racing game on the Sega Saturn and it didn't even
have an in car view, purely driven from behind the car and above. It was
still fun. I just don't think I can go back to those kinds of games though
ever since I played Papyrus Indy Racing. I bought Porsche Unleashed because
people said it was good, but it didn't do much for me.
