N4--Wow! I think I get it now

Bear with me I'm a total Newbie :-)

I picked up a copy of N4 this last weekend. Up until now I have not
spent much time with driving sims. I own copies of SBK2000, SBK2001
and GPL, but I could never really get into them.

N4 has REALLY opened my eyes!!!

I am now finally starting to understand the basics. I am currently
working with the first track Daytona. I learned really fast how
important it is to draft. With the AI set to 90% I was able to hold
onto 11th place in the lead draft for the first 25 laps. That is when
things started to go south for me. I found that in the high banked
turn after the start finish line I could not hold onto my racing line.
Unless I let up on the gas I would slide up the track towards the
wall. In the last high banked turn before the start finish line I
could drive any line and make it stick. I checked my tire wear and my
right front was down to 50%. I was considering a pit stop, when I lost
it and slid into the wall. I retired and watched the race finish. (50
laps total). None of the AI cars took pit stops so I am pretty sure
that my tire wear is excessive.

So to make a long story short.....
Based on my description, is my car "pushing" or "loose", or what?
How many laps should I be able to run before I need to change tires?
Are there any sites with information about setups and the
fundamentals of racing and cr setups?

Thank you for your time and patience!

There's an excellent chassis setup guide at
http://www.sascar.com/  Just look under the NASCAR 4 section.  Well
written, and beneficial for beginners and veterans alike.

I would concentrate on your line and don't worry about speed. It will
come...Just try to drive consistent laps in test mode. If your not driving a
consistent line it will be very difficult to understand how the car is
reacting.  practice - practice and more practice

There are some real nice driving, track, and setup guides on
Team-Lightspeed's site.  You can also download them in PDF format.
