% JOIN THE CLUB!!! I have the TM SUPER SPORT wheel and pedal set (I just
% bought it last week) and I cannot calibrate it to run any MS-DOS based
% games (like GP2 or RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP for example). When I try to
% calibrate mine, my brake pedal doesn't work! Does anyone have any idea
% how the hell to correct this crap? I have been a MICROPROSE GRAND PRIX 2
% fan since day one, but now that I have this new wheel (my old wheel was
% a TM T2 and it worked perfectly, but I just gave it to my brother and I
% bought the TM SUPER SPORT) I cannot play the game (because the joystick
% won't calibrate).
In order for your Super Sport to work with a "pure" DOS program, it must
support the brake and throttle on separate axes.
Try the following for GP2:
Since GP2 is a pure DOS program, setup via Windows control panel (or
TM's will have no affect in GP2).
In the a pure DOS environment the following axes apply to the Super
Sport:
Gas = Y1 or Joystick A Vertical
Brake = X2 or Joystick B Horizontal
Steering = X1 or Joystick A Horizontal
Top row buttons = Joystick A
Paddles = Joystick B
Select an unused controller setup in GP2 and assign the various options
(steering, brake, gas, etc.) to the above. Make sure you have "Control
Driven Calibration" checked. Calibrate the wheel according to the on
screen instructions and things should work fine.
The following is the *.con file for the Super Sport using paddles for
shifting. Place the following file in your GPSAVES folder.
begin 644 ssport.con
MOJ$]A0( & 3+_#$$,!P$R" $R
:_Q R#PX 4W5P97)3<&]R= T .()!40
end
