Question on High Compression Heat CTS

by Doug Appleya » Sat, 04 Aug 2001 01:46:02

Just downloaded and installed the Heat trucks
from high-compression.com.  Fantastic!  A simple
install, then one click and it's like a whole
new game.

My question is, does everyone find the trucks much
easier to drive than the Heat cars? I'm using the
custom "Truck" setups that came with the CTS upgrade.
I'm also using ***.

I can drive at Michigan without lifting, and no brakes
are necessary at Rockingham (just lifting).  Richmond
requires a little braking.  It reminds me of the normal
or expert settings in the cars.

Now, I'm not complaining.  Maybe it's the truck setups
which were provided.  Just wondering if others were
finding the *** trucks easier to drive
than the *** cars.  Is this how the trucks are
in real life?

Also, what lap times are you getting at some of your
favorite tracks?

I say again, great upgrade!  Thanks, H-C!!!

Have you tried the IRL Heat mod yet?  The install is as simple as the
CTS install, and it's a LOT tougher than the Cup cars!

We have new IRL menus, but that's a separate download.  The 2001 mod
will probably be an all-in-one mod, like the CTS mod, but the 2000 IRL
mod is kind of "modular" at the moment.

Yes, noticed the same thing. However, they are real
fun to drive and a great job was done with the whole
presentation of the mod.

Cheers,
Rod.

The CTS mod changes the physics as well.  You are now driving a rig with
less horsepower and MORE drag.
that is why Michigan is easier to handle.  Like JB said...try the IRL cars
at Darlington...but bring a-lot of spare suspension pieces...

I'm stunned at the level of detail: when trucks bang fenders they actually
leave DONUTS on the doors!!!!!  Truly an outstanding achievement -
especially considering the development budget! lol
