Hello all,

First let me say sorry for posting this here, but I posted this to
comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.video twice and got no respones. So I'm hoping
that I might get some here. Here goes:
I've had the Reactor Rendition card in my computer for over a year now
and it still won'y run in WIN95 higher than 16 color. I have tried
everything and called everyone I could think of with no help. It plays
all my dos games perfect and I even get excellent frame rate playing N2
in dma mode. But my worst fears have happened. A lot of games comming
out now are for WIN95. But because of my card I can't play them. So now
I'm shopping for a vew video card. What I'm looking for is a card that
will run in WIN95 higher than 16 color, and play all my dos games in
SVGA. It wouldn't hurt also to be able to play N2 in dma mode to. So I
was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what card to buy.
Money is not a problem. I have a Hewlett Packard Pavilion, P150 and 16MB
of RAM. I've finally given up on the Reactor card. Plus it would be nice
if this new card installs easy and the software is a snap to load up and
get running, I.E. the drivers and so on. So could anyone please e-mail
me with any advice on wich card to purchase?
Once again sorry to post this here, but I seem to get no responses when
posting to the other newsgroup.
Thanks,
Matt

Sounds like a driver problem.  There most likely is nothing wrong with the
card, but you are using the wrong drivers.  As Julian posted, get the newest
drivers.  On a side note, that P150 would be MUCH happier running as a P166
w/ a 66MHz bus (X 2.5 = 166MHz).  The P150 is a scam that never should have
existed.  Consider yourself a P166 owner who got a better deal. ;)  Check
your MB settings and upgrade for nada.

I'm using WIN95 version 4.00.950. As for the drivers, I really don't
know. I'm assuming it's the ones that came with the card on a disk. I'm
not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computer. If there
is a way I could find out for sure I would, but I don't know how. But I
did go to the Reactor site a downloaded the latest driver...the
wn953130. I haven't installed it yet, but I'll let you know what
happens when I do.
Thanks,
Matt
