Anyway to answer you... to keep a 60hz rate means that you'll probably have
to lower the res from 1080i to standards that good PC's can easily match and
go much higher, they can go above the 2million pixels of 1080i in raw
surface anyway so its easily equal to 1080i. Or else you'll be stuck in
native 30 hz, that's not fun. There's some overscan problems also iirc with
rFactor, but that can be fixed with driver tweaks.
We're getting friggin close that's for sure in terms of software. In a year
I expect all PC games to all support 1080i on the PC for outputting to an
HDTV. They must do to battle against the 3 new consoles.
4:3 CRT monitors are slowly going to dissapear. I give them 3 more years
max, but they will probably still be available like 4:3 TV's today.
