I bought Colin McRae Rally 2 last week (Canada) and was disgusted to
discover that Nicky Grist's co-driver voice has been cut in favour of an
American, and a very choppy one at that?

Does anyone know a way to replace this with Nicky Grist's original voice?

I believe you can replace the co-driver's voice by changing the
englishspeech.bfl file.  For me it's located in the
..CMR2\countryspecific\europe directory.
I bought an imported version of CMR2, so I got a british co-driver.  I don't
know who's doing the voice, but it sounds like the same guy who did the first
CMR.  The file you need to change is only about 500 kb, so I'd be glad to
send mine to you if you'd like.

If you got the UK version, then the voice is that of Nicky Grist, Colin
McRae's real-life co-driver. And very good he is too, so long as you
turn his volume up a bit.

Do you really think the co-driver instructions are good in CMR2?  I can't
remember how they compare to other rally games I've played, but it seems
that there are way too many times that Mr. Grist warns about a tight turn
far too late.  Plus, I'm pretty sure in one of the latter GB stages he says
to go right into an uphill chicane type obstacle when you should in fact be
going left.  I screwed up that stage far too many times cuz of that error :

Seems like whenever I see rally highlights on Motorsports Mundial, the
co-drivers are ITALIAN!  It's great fun listening to them and trying to
figure out what the heck they are saying.(some appear to be women as well.)

I was just about to post the same thing!  Half the fun of these British
rally games is the difficult to comprehend accents!! :)

Hmmm, I don't know one voice from another, not following the rally
circuit for long, but I did notice that Ned Jarrett (sp?) was the
narrator for the cut scenes :)
