I am trying to set up Indy Car for 2-player racing.  As far as my computer
setup goes, I am trying to link 2 machines directly, and I am having absolutely
no luck.  Any hints?  Thanks.

Hi,

Make sure you have version 1.04 or the latest 1.05. Early versions had
well documented linked problems.

The current modem and direct link modules are the most stable of any
modem/linked game/sim I have ever used, and a credit to the Papyrus
team.

If you have these versions and are still having problems with direct
link, most probable cause "finger trouble" , second, check your null
modem cable is really a null modem cable (correctly wired).

Regards
Keiron

I don't know how extensive your knowledge is so I will run through two of
the most common problems with two player racing in INDYCAR with two
machines side by side.

1. You need a null modem cable or a serial cable with a null modem
adapter.

2. Each machine has to be set to direct not modem in the setup screen for
the         modem..

3. Have you selected the correct com ports and IRQ for each machine?

4. Which version of INDYCAR are you using? If you don't have Ver 1.04 or
higher call     Papyrus Tech Support BBS and D/L a Ver 1.04 patch. This
may help with your     connect problems.
