Just fired up the Papyrus GP Legends demo for a test drive, and wow,
what a ride. They really look to be on a winner with this one. It is
a bold move for them to simulate 1960's F1, which on the face of it,
would appear to have little appeal with the mass market, especially in
the US, but this is done so well that it is bound to become a classic.
The driving model of the 1960's F1 cars is like nothing that has been
offered in a PC sim before. As the topic says, no aerodynamic
downforce, and narrow grooved tyres make it a lot more likely to
spin/slide/crash than a modern F1 car. This is a real pure handling
beast. It actually reminds me of riding a motorcycle on the racetrack
- get all of your braking done in a straight line, forget using the
brakes mid turn, just keep the power on thru the turn, and NAIL IT as
early as you dare on the exit!
Excellent stuff. When's the final due?
