Turned on the tube late tonight, and stumbled upon the '85 spring Bristol
Race, where Earnhardt lost his power steering 100 laps into the 500 lap
event.
Not only did he finish the race, he won.

Couple years ago(or was it last year ?), Jeffy lost his power steering at
C***te early in the race..........parked the car.

The Man..........the one and only.

I'm not a big Earnhardt fan, but I will certainly agree that the drivers of
that era were more "manly" than the current crop of drivers. (IMO)

I remember Cale Yarborough having to do the same thing that year at
Darlington of all places and he finished a close second to Bill Elliott for
the million.

Yep, he probably would have won if he hadn't blown up. Few years back
Petty made a statement that in his mind, there were only three current
drivers who would have lasted in Petty's prime.
Can't remember the third, but two were Earnhardt and Jarrett.
