Nascar 2 Quickbasic source code for extracting info from Reply file wanted

 I'm looking for the Quickbasic source code or info on how
to extract the drivers names,lap time/speed etc from the
replay files of Nascar 2
I know there are programs written by some very tallented folks
available at some of the Nascar sites but would like to know
how to do it myself.
