Why was I ejected?

by Tony Jeste » Mon, 26 Feb 2001 06:04:50

I was leading a race at Las Vegas on N4 hosted by CleanFun.  Somebody
slams into me.  Yellow flag.  I spin around a couple times end up going
the right way, pull in behind the pace car like I'm supposed to.  Then I
see a message saying I've been ejected.  A while later I try to join
another race by the same server, but get a message you can't enter a
race you've been ejected from.  If I did something wrong, I have no idea
what it was and seems kinda rude to eject someone without some kind of
expaination.  What's up with that?

Why was I ejected?

I was in the same race.  If that was you in the #116 Ocean Point car (for
some weird N4 reason all the names in the replay are switched around)  then
I saw no good reason for you to be ejected.  The #104 who tagged you got a
really good run coming out of T2 and was drafting past you on the inside.
You looked like you slightly brushed the wall (on my replay at least) and
drifted down about half a lane where he nudged your rear quarter and spun
you both.  Looked very much like the classic "racing incident" to me. After
a lap of yellow you'd just passed the S/F line when you suddenly
dissappeared. If I recall correctly the message that came up was that you'd
manually disconnected but unfortuneately the replay doesn't record the chat
or server info. After the race I was chatting with the #104 driver (he and I
were the only 2 left at end) and he didn't even mention it apart from a
general observation that it would have been nice if more people had stayed.
I'd just put this one down to general N4 weirdness if I were you.  GPL
needed a couple of patches to clean up the rough edges  and I think N4 is
going to  need some fine tuning also.

hmm.. I'm not the only one experiencing this.  Most of my replays show
the wrong people in the wrong car.  Some, or most of them show me in the
right numbered car but the wrong paint job and I was the only one in those
with my original number.
