Please help me,

I have a cable modem aand want to play online.

Well I go to the VROC page and join a race everything works properly.

When i get to the multiplayer screen I have 4 options to work with.
IDX with a null and other thing in there. I use this and set the null
and other thng according to the settings it says next to it. But no go
there.

ADX Modem blah balh and it asks for phone #.....well i know thats not
what i want.

Serial Port1........tryied this and nothing it just closes.
Serial Port2......same results.

Ive entered the line in the core.ini file that the readme said to put in
there for cable modems....soemthing like alternative addr lookup=1
something like that i did that.
But still i get the same 4 choices when i go to multiplayer.

I see the host's IP in the right window but cant do anything to connect
with him.

Am i suppose to have an IP/TCP in the connectiopn options?

IM pulling my hair out here LOL its starting to tick me off im going TO
THROW THIS PUTER OUT THE DAMN WINDOW AHHHAHHHHHHHHHHHH

........................ok i lit up a smoke .....calmed down now <g>

please someone help me.

Most cable modems use dynamically assigned TCP/IP addresses.  By default,
GPL will only find static and dialup IP addresses.  Create a plain text
file named core.ini in GPL's home directory that has the following two
lines in it - you should then have the TCP/IP option on the multiplayer
setup screen (see GPL's readme.txt for more info).

[ Communications]
alternate_ip_addr_lookup = 1
