Tip (sorry if this was posted before):

Today I discovered that you can set less than 5 AI cars when you are in the
multi player mode. Just pretend you're hosting a race and check the "Use IP
adress 000000" or something box.
As a bonus, in multi player mode GPL doesn't require the CD to be present
(that is, if you did a full install).

it never requires me to have the cd in.

Why not just run a practice session? If you are going lower than 5 AI cars,
you will probably never see them anyway.

P.S. I don't need my CD in at any time....

I had seen some messages a few days ago complaining about the minimum of 5
ai cars in races. So multiplayer mode is a workaround for people with a slow
cpu who don't want to be all allone.

I was indeed surprised that I have to insert the cd. I have done a full
install. When I don't have the cd in and choose practise, single race or
championship, I get a message saying that this function needs the cd and
that I should restart the game with the CD in!
Any one else have the same experience? I bought my copy in the Netherlands
two days ago.

Yes, exactly the same for me, always asks for the CD, I haven't tried
multiplayer without the CD yet though, so I don't know if it is the same
for that.
