Loooooooong yellows

Okay, I have a question.  I'm running NASCAR CD (no patches yet, grrrrr!)
and am at the first race of the season at Bristol.  I'm feeling pretty
good because even with my weak joystick I'm running 24th, which is pretty
good for me right now.  Someone who got caught on the high side of the
track in turn 3 decides to occupy the same space I do in turn 4 (might be
Jimmy Spencer, might be just a look-a-like).  What happens is fairly
predictable.  The result is I have a car that is capable of about 7 mph
until I can get to my pit.  After a 2 minute pit stop, I get back on the
track only to see everybody else has completely stopped.  I go as far as
I can until the sign says "stay behind number 09".  So I do.  For several
minutes.  Sometimes a car moves, but mostly everyone stays put.  I
finally get bored enough to give up on this week and accelerate time.  I
get stuck with a 32nd, but at least I can go to the next week.  My
question is what happened and is it normal.  Should I just sit there and
wait?  Someone please help!  I'm never gonna run in the top 30 in points
if I do a DNF every 3rd race or so.  Thanks.

Bill

You have found one of the reasons for the 1.2 patch.  Congratulations.
