Viper Racing bug- crash on exit

by Jonathan Bish » Thu, 04 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I have a problem with Viper Racing- I get an error when I exit:
RACE caused an invalid page fault in module WININET.DLL at
014f:7021980a.  I can close the program, and everything seems
fine.  Now, to make things more interesting, when Norton
CrashGuard is running, I get no error on exit, but a process
called Viper Racing still shows up in the Task Manager.  I can
kill the process.  Whether I kill it or not, I can't run the program
again until I reboot.  I try to run it, I get the arrow/hourglass
cursor for a second or two, then it goes back to the normal
arrow, and no program runs.  This happened with v1.0 and also
with v1.1.  It happens with or without -nointro.

Any ideas?

Viper Racing bug- crash on exit

by Stev » Thu, 04 Mar 1999 04:00:00

I had all sorts of problems with VR crashing a lot until I replaced the
"Viper Racing" executable with the demo executable, and now I don't even
need the CD to run the game. Two birds with one stone!

hope this helps

Steve
