F1GP Too Easy. Even at Ace Level

by Gladwell G » Sun, 20 Mar 1994 00:18:51

Hi there,
I just wondered whether there is any way to make the game more
difficult, as I find it too easy even at ace level, providing I drive
consistantly i.e without crashing. For example on the first track, round the
streets of America, I was just about to lap my team mate for the second time
just before the race ended. There must be a way to make it more of a challenge.

                        Regards,

                                Greg

Well, I note see you're playing it on an Amiga ('ray!), in which case, using
an analogue joystick is a good way to completely dispel any nonchalance which
you may have exhibited when using the keyboard or a digital joystick. It's
a completely different kettle of scaley things altogether; I used to be able
to stuff everybody on Ace level too, but since I got my AJ I can barely win
in semi-pro mode any more ... :-\

Of course, you may already be using an analogue joystick, in which case you
are obviously God.

Slainte,
Calum.

My advice would be: Try IndyCar Racing.  I gave up my copy of F1GP for
the same reason.

First of all well done, you must be half-decent.
Secondly, are you running 100% length races?
Thirdly I and others have noticed that the human drivers
have a big edge on the tight courses, Phoenix, Monaco, Hungary,
and Adelaide. The computer cars have a big edge on the more
open courses like Hockenhiem, Imola, Silverstone, SPA, etc...
Intermediate courses like Montreal and Brazil are pretty even
        for humans and computer AI...

Also, computer speed seems to affect play balance....

Why not run a full season campaign at full reality and ACE level,
then let us know how you fare?
