N4 car viewer?

Anybody know of one?  It is a pain when painting with a 3rd party tool that
you have to start the game in order to see the paintjob in 3D...

It would be nice if N4 would ATL+TAB, then I could just leave it running while
I paint in PSP.

TIA,
Gerald

That would still probably not refresh the texture in N4; you'd
probably have to restart the race (if I had done N4).
But it still might save time.

I think it may be what display driver you are using. I can't remember which
I currently use (OpenGL likely) but in trying to tweak my graphics in the
past I have been able to do it before. I can't presently ALT-TAB so maybe
that is only an option under D3D.

If you can't ALT-TAB then go to your video setup and change to the opposite
driver (if you can) and change it to the other setting (OpenGL or D3D).

Best of luck,

edb

It's in the readme file, Direct 3d has been setup so you CAN alt+tab.
It's the sole reason I use Direct 3d :-) Alt+Tab works great, very
consistently.

You can Alt+Tab but you have to use Direct3D as OpenGL disables it.

you could try running N4 in a window with D3D while you paint cars.

Grant, that is exactly the answer I'VE been looking for......I have enough
room for a second install, so why not...how elegant. Thanks, nice to hear
from Papy folks and yes, I love N4

And here I thought I was losing my mind...  you know, I thought I remembered
that ALT+TAB did work for me at one time.  But I have switched to OpenGL
since then... I'll switch back to D3D and paint my blues away.

Right after I read the rest of the README.txt. . . DOH!

Thanks,
Gerald
