There's a good review here:

... Staples has GP3 for $35 if you're looking for good value for your money.

Since you are asking this question in rec.autos.simulators, the answer is :
No.

There are better simulations on the market, much better simulations.

I'll add that OF1R from Eidos/Lankhor was complete crap.  That doesn't give
me hope for that combination in a "sequel".

It all boils down to one thing: What are you looking for? If you want
a serious simulation with lots of depth you can do a lot better than a
game like F1 World Grand Prix. On the other hand, if your looking for
a low-committment game that you can jump into quickly it's not that
bad and the graphics are pretty nice. Unfortunately there was a wheel-
lock problem that the unofficial beta patches never quite ironed out,
and Eidos and Lankhor (the developer) never came together on an
official patch for the game.

My initial impression of the newer F1 World Grand Prix 2000 is better.
It's the same low-committment type game but has a nice career and
research-upgrade feature and allows a lot more options in the area of
vehicle setup. Strangely they left the replay feature out of this
game! Not a bad game but again, its a matter of what you're looking
for.

I'm in agreement with you regarding OF1R. It's interesting to note
that Eutechnyx is the developer of the latest game in the series.

I bought GP3 at EB for $24.99 CAD (not used), that's about $19.00 U.S.
