You must be using the NoCD patch - v0.915 comes up then.  The pukka retail
version is v1.04. Just right click on the exe file and look at version
number.
Anyway, get the v1.06 patch which improves the AI enormously. If you want to
get rid of the CD check then use the Unsafedisk utility.

Iain,

I have the v1.06, I dl'd the unsafedisk patch.  But when I run it, it can't
read the new icd file that came with the patch and it just seems to be
scanning the old icd file forever.  Can you give me some guidance on how to
make this work?  I find the safedisk protection almost unacceptable.

Yep, you have to rename the new icd file as 'f1_2000.icd' then run it. A new
exe file called testme.exe will be created. Just rename that to
'f1_2000.exe' and you're away!

The link at www.simracing.com seems to be down right now.  But there is a "no
cd patch" listed in the f12k section of www.bhmotorsports.com.  Can't attest
to its effectiveness.
