they spent over 4 years developing the GPL physics. at the time they said
they were going to release updates for other years  (probably through the
'70s), and continue the GPL development, with better graphics and a few
other things that didn't make it into the original.

then they said it would be used as the basis for the new nascar and cart
games, possibly even a modern f1 sim, but where are they?

While Papy was busy writing code, other *** publishers found it easier to
secure exclusive licensing agreements with the various
drivers/teams/governing bodies.

Nascar 4 is the Nascar sim based on the GPL physics engine.
