You can not download INDY at the FTP site.  You must purchase it
through retailers, sometime type of "try before you buy
establishment", or Papyrus directly.  I believe through Papy is
twenty dollars...

Be advised that several people have bought the original Indycar w/ the
expectation that the Indianapolis track is there. It isn't, you have to
buy it seperately (19.99) from Papyrus.

I found a cd-rom at Target about 6 months ago that had about 5 classic driving
games on it, such as Indy 500, Test Drive 3, etc.  It was about $15, so you
might try to find it.

But, if he was talking about "the" Indy500 Simulation that came out in
1990-91 then it ONLY has the Indy track on it.  I have seen it at
Electronics Boutique in the Dallas area.  It's one of those $15
"classic" games, and should be with all the "old" games in the
software stores.  That came was nothing fabulous BUT it is a classic
though!

If you shop around at places like WalMart, Office Depot, Best Buys, or
KMart, you might still find "Indianapolis 500: The Simulation" in one
of two forms:

        - a smallish box (like about 4"W x 6"H x 1/2" thick) containing
the game alone on CD, labeled as some sort of a CD "Classics"
collection, and selling for about $9.99 (though I saw it
                recently for $6.99)

    or
        - a bigger box, (like about 8"x10"x1") containing the game along
with other racing games like Test Drive 3(?): The
Challenge, Accolade's old grand prix game, Grand Prix
Unlimited,  and Stunt Driver (not to be confused with
"Stunts").  In my opinion, only Indy500 and Stunt Driver
were worth the hard drive space...  I picked up this package
for about $19.99.  Be warned, however, that all the manuals
are on the CD and must be printed out by the purchaser.

I still like the old "Indianapolis 500: The Simulation".  It was way ahead
of its time when it came out, and what was truly amazing was that it was
fully playable on my XT-class machine with only 640K RAM, a 10MB hard drive,
EGA video, and the PC speaker.
