I'm not sure of my graphics card, nor my sound card, but GP3 runs ever so
smoothly on it.
I've only got 64 MB of SDRAM, running on a P3 450 MHZ Machine.
What are some short term changes I can make to my system, and/or the game
itself before I go out and purchase memory and other assortments (such as a
new computer, which is long overdue either way...)

I believe GP4 requires a 3D graphics card. In GP3 do you run in software or
hardware mode?

GP4 will only run at a crawl on your pc and even if you double the cpu and
mem it will still run at a crawl, Get a decent new CPU overclock it and get
a GeForce 4. However GP4 is really not worth that expense, you're better off
staying with GP3 and GP4 is almost identical anyway. Even to play the rather
better F1 2002 you'll need a twice the CPU and a decent 3D card.
Best thing for you would be to get lots more ram (it is cheap!) at least
256mb and a GeForce 4200ti which is the best peformance/value card about ata
the moment
