N4 can't see my own car...help

Whenever I join a race online, I can't see my own car.  The one I have
chosen in my Players options is car number 83.  But when I join a race, the
Netserver has that car number, and I always have #302.

What am I doing wrong?

 Choose any number other than 83 - thet's sort of the 'default' car, and you
can't have two cars numbered the same, so if you join a race with ANOTHER 83
in it (and chances are, you will), you get a randomly numbered car. So,
change from 83!
