semi-newbie advice - which online sims to go for

Hi.

I do say semi newbie because I have been a frequent visitor to GPL VROC for
a few years, but only via a 56K modem in the UK.

I did follow the lemans mods etc for F12001.

I do have F12002 & Nascar2002 but I got left behind when all these huge
300mb GTR type mods came out last year.

I'm due to get my 500k broadband connection switched on this coming monday,
so these huge files shouldn't pose a problem anymore.

What I'd like to know is :-

A) What are the best recommended mods for F12002 and where can I find them
( seasons new&old , GT , Lemans , new/old tracks , setups etc ). I'd love to
find a mod for classic 60's GTs and pilot a GT40 mkII.

B) On F12002, is it better to make various installations of the game and
then set mods up on each individual installation, i.e. I hate it when I
introduce a new mod and it wrecks the whole game if it doesn't work.

C) What other sim or simlike car racing games are worth a look. Is Toca Race
Driver any good.?

D) Do any major complete season revamps exist for GPL. I always thought a
GPLII based on early 70s was in the pipeline

E) GPL at present is still my fave because I can call up vroc and drop
straight into Monza. I've not tracked this NG for many months, so is there
anything else available that has taken GPL's online crown ? I'd love to play
F12002 in its various forms in a vroc-gpl type enviroment. What is possible
now I'm due to be on adsl?

Don't get Toca Race Driver...reviews make it sound worse than any of the NFS
games.

Try Live for Speed from www.liveforspeed.net, then upgrade it to patch C.
Seems like there might be some difficulties with the various versions of
patch D.  You can find videos of  "LFS" here:
http://www.bhmotorsports.com/LFS/movies.  Some of the movies are better than
others.

For F1 2002, try: GTR 2002, the BPR Mod, the Alfa 147 Challenge mod, and the
M3 Challenge mod, all from here:
http://f1hq.racesimcentral.com/site/page.php?pagina=1.php&titel=t1

Enjoy.
