Will GP2 ever see the light of day ?

What a load of rubbish.  Let's give Microprose a chance.  They don't
develop the game, they only publish it.  If everyone wants to whinge and
*** about how long it takes to get it out why aren't they whinging
about Geoff Cramond.  If you think he is above being ***ed about then
DON'T ***!

Let's look at what people expect here.  When indycarII came out everyone
said, oh, awesome graphics etc.  Now that there are a lot of better
looking games coming out, GP2 included everyone is talking about
indycarIII, or asking why the graphics are so lame.

Geoff Cramond obviously wants to make a superior product that has
everything we want.  He doesn't want to release the game only to here
some smart arse saying two months later, if ??? has this feature than why
doesn't GP2.  He wants to get it perfect with current programming techniques.

So what I am saying is LAY of Microprose.  They are as eager to get it as
you are.  They are in full communication with Geoff I am sure.  If he
says the game will be out in September, than I am sure they don't come
back and tell is April jsut to play us along.  If you have ever tried to
develope a major application and try and bring it in on time, considering
that clients demand change as the project progresses, than you will know
what he is faced with.

Stop all the bullshit about will it be out in 96, 97, 98 etc.  We all
know it will be out soon, and worth the wait.  And I certainly hope that
anyone who has been whinging in this group and saying, "Just get it out
and stuff the detail", wont dare say in this group after it is out, "why
doesn't it have this feature" etc.  It will be YOUR FAULT!

Let's get this group back on topic.  The dicussion of Auto Simulators,
not the ***ing about companies and release dates.  As a challenge, name
me a piece of major software that comes out on the initial predicted
release date that was stated when it was envisiaged.  By major software I
mean windows, word processors, games etc etc.  Projects over 12 months!

Just my feelings towards all the shit that goes on in this group!  Grow
up and wait for the best product they can give us, and if your machine
can't run it a 100% than don't blame the developer, jsut remember, there
are probably (an I know for a fact) that there are still people out there
using XT computers!  How do they feel!

Thanks for your comments - it's the same in the German Fido Net Spiele.ger.
All is complaining, etc - on the other hand they want a perfect game with no bugs
and all features. That simply doesn't work. A huge racing sim needs a lot of debugging
,etc means development time.

Ciao,

Better to wait for a perfect race simulation then to have a flawed
one now.
